Cabinet of Wonders “If
you would like to know how easy it is to overlook evil, to see it for
something else, Petra Kronos is growing up in a magical childhood in the village of Okno, surrounded by mechanical metal pets that eat, grow, and in many ways are like the animals her inventor-father fashioned them after. He even gives Petra's pet spider Astrophil the magical gift of reading, the joy of learning, and the ability to talk. But times are hard. Her mother is gone, and her father has taken a job at Prince Rodolfo's castle in Prague where he has been commissioned to create the most beautiful clock in the world for the prince. But things go horribly wrong. Oh, the clock is, indeed, the most stunningly beautiful clock in the world, but before Petra's father can finish its magical heart, the evil, power-hungry prince make a gruesome decision. He will finish the clock himself. (Here's the gruesome part) He will need the eyes of Mikel Kronos. So shocked and saddened by the cruelty of the prince and the helplessness of her precious, gifted, now helpless father, Petra embarks on a quest to take back her fathers eyes, a quest that will lead her into great danger, a quest she cannot hope to complete without the help of others: her friend named Tomik, a gypsy boy, an acid-skinned woman, and more, all of whom had magical powers of their own. Will her own cleverness, honesty, empathy, and perseverance be strong enough magic to outwit the evil prince? This fabulous, high fantasy set in medieval times, takes you back into real and imagined history where you will discover the how mistakes are not the end of life but the beginning of invention. Petra's good, strong character and respect for what is right will pave the way for successful quests in your own future! After you have read The Cabinet of Wonders you and your friends will clamor for the sequel! Internet Connections Astronomical
