Ajani and his friends live in a poor, South African village where a old plastic ball provides their link to fun...a game of soccer. But, not even a game of soccer in a dusty alley can be safe. They must always be on the watch for gangs of bullies.
When Ajani is chosen the best reader in his class, he is awarded a real, Bafana Bafana leather soccerball. What will happen when a their exhuberant game of what they call football is invaded by the bullies intent on destroying their fun and stealing their soccer ball? Will the strength of the bullies be a match for the resilient spirit and cleverness of the friends?
