Descriptor and Focus: Through this year's award-winning literature, we will join characters in award-winning literature including 20 Texas BluebonnetSMNominees! By climbing our of our boxes and into stories with them, we will allow them to spark our imaginations, enrich our vocabularies, analyze the choices, predict how problems will be solved, squeeze into their minds, and use their wisdom to help chart paths that can the future. Educators who KNOW the best literature will be able put the right book into the hands of a child who is searching for strength in skills, focus, or character. Master writers can become their role models to inspire students to develop their own talents as they persue their dreams. These role models can be foundational to success in helping students make wise decisions that can expand their choices, and enable them to enrich the lives of friends, family, and community around them. Outstanding literature with focused instructional strategies in the Kids' Wings Reading Out Of The Box workshop will help young readers become better, more avid readers, thinkers, and writers. The real-life lessons in their stories cross disciplines and nurture creative and critical thinking for your gifted and talented students as well as those who are not yet identified. They increase creative problem solving and group interaction within your classroom. Award-winning literature in all genres will inspire your students to discover how characters interact to create, design, invent, and problem solve. From here, it is only a short hop to adopting these techniques to their own lives. Award-winning literature for grades 3-7 will transform your classroom into a vibrant, interactive, exciting place.
