In Platypus Police Squad: The Frog Who Croaked by Jarrett Krosoczka, revives the popular 1950s television show, DRAGNET, in this hysterically punny parody. The characters have been transformed to platypi. Detective Joe Friday has become Detective Rick Zengo, a platypus. Detective Bill Gannon has become Detective Corey O'Malley, an older platypus. While the platypi in new version dress and often sound like the originals, their physical characteristics dictate changes ... instead of occasionally investigating tire tracks on "hands and knees," the new detectives have to use "flippers and knees." They share the universal police concerns for truth, justice, and the American Way. (Oops, sorry, that's Superman, but you get the picture.) You will love this comical satirical police story, the fun of problem solving the unusual mystery, and the anticipation of waiting for Krosoczks's next platyirical book!
