Challenger, America's Favorite Eagle
A bald eagle chick which was destined to fly free over the America's tallest mountains rode his stick nest to the ground in a stong storm in a Louisana forest. Unable to save their chick, the mother and father eagles watched helplessly as a fisherman discovered their little eaglet among the sticks.
What would a fisherman do with a tiny eagle chick? What would you do?
Did he turn it loose? Would you turn it loose?
Could he build the nest back and put it back for its parents to take care? Could you?
Do you think the fisherman thought that this baby bird would become America's Favorite Eagle? Would you have thought that?
Is it possible that this baby bird could be returned to the wild?
Is it possible that this eaglet could grow into a magnificent bird that would fly free over sporting events?
Challenger, America's Favorite Eagle is the story of this real baby eaglet. It begins when the storm crushed his home and follows his life through his inspiring patriotic flights over awe-stricken American gatherings. It is a must-have for every school library and one you will want in your classroom as well.
